About
Kate Johnson
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Social Worker who has worked in the helping field for over 15 years (10 years in a clinical setting). I bring a highly relational approach to therapy and have training in AEDP, IFS and EMDR. In the therapy room, I tailor my approach to my client's individual goals and needs. You can expect warmth and connection as we work together to bring healing to the parts of you that are holding pain and to deepen your connection with yourself and others.
I love the connections that I get to build with the people I work with and I bring my full self to the relationship between therapist and client. It is a privilege for me to accompany people in some of their most vulnerable moments and also to celebrate with them in coming more fully into who they are.
I am someone who is with you in also being on an ongoing journey of healing and self-discovery. I am a real, full human being who doesn’t always have it all together and I’m not going to pretend that I do. As someone who provides therapy, it is important to me to also have my own therapist and to continue doing my own inner work. I have found therapy in addition to other body-based healing practices to be transformative in my own life and am passionate about having these resources be accessible to others too.
Outside of work, my three children and my partner keep my life full and interesting. They are my biggest inspiration and motivation for growth and healing and also a huge source of fun and delight! I am an avid reader, a beginner gardener, and I enjoy baking (usually something involving chocolate). I am an introvert who also longs for deep connection. I love a good balance of both solitude and also time spent with friends and family.
